Metro Bank’s expansion
The award-winning bank, which became the first new retail bank company to open up in Britain for 150 years in 2010, currently has five stores in Essex and has an ambitious expansion plan in the county and nationwide. As the bank continues to expand its interests beyond London and the South East it is planning to create 500 new jobs and to open up to 12 new stores throughout the UK this year and over 110 more by 2020.

Working with INVEST Essex
INVEST Essex worked closely with Metro Bank on their latest choice of site in Essex in Colchester and introduced them to Colchester Borough Council to jointly deliver the project. The Colchester store was the second store to open in Essex in three weeks following the opening of the Chelmsford store in December.
